CSF Priority Conservation Funding Protection and Other Pro-Sportsmen Legislation Signed into Law in Louisiana

Governor Jeff Landry recently signed into law pro-sportsmen bills that protect conservation funding, allow for the use of dogs to track wounded deer, and expand protections against hunter/angler harassment on all state-owned land. 

 

Connecticut Adjourns and Sin Tax Dies on the Vine

Connecticut House Bill 5114 sought to establish an 11% excise tax on ammunition and dedicate funds towards a community gun violence intervention and prevention program. CSF took immediate action opposing the bill and submitting testimony encouraging its demise.

In Illinois, CSF worked throughout the 2024 legislative session to help defeat HB 2900, a bill that would have prohibited hunters in the Prairie State from organizing contests to legally harvest furbearers.

Approximately 75 sportsmen and women gathered in Davis, CA, on May 28, 2024, for the California Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus’ Trap Shoot.
