Washington State is now the 35th state to detect Chronic Wasting Disease; a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) that impacts members of the cervid family including deer, elk, caribou, and moose. This highly transmissible neurological disease is always fatal to infected animals, complicating wildlife management. |

With rising black bear populations, bear sightings and conflicts are becoming more common place and New Hampshire Fish and Game (starting this September 2024) will be offering an additional bear tag to Granite State bear hunters where population targets are double what the Department would like them to be. |
