Protecting Texas Oyster Reefs Again on the Commission Agenda  

On October 14, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation submitted a letter in support of the proposed moratorium on oyster harvest in Texas’ bays of Carlos, Mesquite, and Ayres. A measure considered necessary by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the proposed moratorium would cover approximately 3% of Texas’ coastal oyster habitat and is being embraced by multiple sporting-conservation organizations
