Right to Hunt and Fish Constitutional Amendment Headed to Ballot in FL in 2024

CSF's Mark Lance Appears at a Press Conference supporting right to hunt and fish legislation at the Florida State Capitol

Last week, the Florida Legislature passed legislation that will add a constitutional amendment, ingraining the right to hunt and fish into the state constitution, to the ballot in 2024. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) led the way in advocating for the legislation, including the critical amendment that significantly strengthened the protections in the bill, which if adopted, will protect long-standing outdoor traditions and ensure the continuation of conservation funding that benefits game and non-game species alike. The measure, sponsored by Representative Lauren Melo and cosponsored by Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Co-Chair Representative Jason Shoaf, received unanimous, bipartisan support in the House of Representatives, and passed the Senate on an extremely strong 39-1 vote.

"CSF Just May Be the Best Investment I Have Ever Made."

James L. Cummins, Executive Director of Wildlife Mississippi, President of the Boone and Crockett Club, and CSF Board Member, knows a thing or two about conservation. Between his experience as a wildlife biologist, his time spent on Capitol Hill, and his various volunteer positions, Mr. Cummins has distinguished himself as a sportsman worth emulating. In 2022, Mr. Cummins added another title to that list, CSF Heritage Fund Donor. Please follow this link to learn more about Mr. Cummins story and how you too can provide a voice for America's sportsmen and women via planned giving.
