Oklahoma Hosts 2024 Sportsmen’s Day at the Capitol

Last week, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) and Ducks Unlimited (DU) cohosted the 2024 Oklahoma Sportsmen’s Day at the Capitol. This event brought together members of the Sooner State’s sporting-conservation community with members of the Oklahoma Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus for a celebration of Oklahoma’s storied outdoor heritage while demonstrating the community’s dedication to the “user pays – public benefits” American System of Conservation Funding (ASCF) and it’s role in supporting conservation efforts in the state.

TSV host Fred Bird is joined again by CSF’s Marie Neumiller to discuss the issue of non-hunters, and even anti-hunters seeking seats on Fish and Game Boards and Commissions. Together, they highlight the impact of these appointments on wildlife management, hunting heritage, and access, along with exploring the qualifications and changes in commission appointments, the challenges of non-hunting commissioners, the debate between conservation and preservation, as well as the lack of trust and accountability in the commission system.

"There is no better way to help assure the strength of CSF and future opportunities for hunters and anglers."

NASCAR Hall of Famer and CSF Board Chairman Richard Childress joined the CSF Board of Directors to bring the same level of enthusiasm and dedication he brings to racing to ensuring the rights of hunters and anglers. Childress, an avid outdoorsman, is as passionate about giving back as he is about hunting and fishing. To keep supporting CSF well into the future, Mr. Childress became a CSF Heritage Fund Donor. Please follow this link to learn more about Mr. Childress' story and how you too can provide a voice for America's sportsmen and women via planned giving.

Our outdoor heritage needs YOU!  Get involved today so we can keep fighting for tomorrow.
