CSF Actively Opposing Bill That Would Undermine Nation's Bedrock Conservation and Access Program

On June 22, Rep. Andrew Clyde (GA) introduced H.R. 8167, the RETURN (Repealing Excise Taxes on Unalienable Rights Now) Our Constitutional Rights Act of 2022. If enacted, this legislation would effectively gut the Pittman-Robertson Act – the most significant wildlife conservation legislation in the United States and the foundational pillar of our “user pays – public benefits” American System of Conservation Funding. CSF is actively opposing this short-sighted legislation, which ignores the will of sportsmen and women, industry groups, and the conservation community at large.
