December 12, 2022 (WASHINGTON, DC) – The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) is thrilled to announce the launch of the Hawaii Legislative Outdoor Heritage Caucus – the 50th, and final, state to join the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC). Started in 2004, the NASC network has grown to include over 2,000 legislators and with the inclusion of Hawaii, now contains legislative sportsmen’s caucuses in all 50 states further exemplifying CSF’s representation for all of America’s 55 million sportsmen and women. “The National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses began with the recognition that most decisions impacting our sporting traditions are made at the state level,” said Jeff Crane, President & CEO of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation. “With the inclusion of the Hawaii Legislative Outdoor Heritage Caucus, we look forward to furthering CSF’s mission, and success, in the years to come and warmly welcome the members of the Hawaii Caucus into the NASC family.” To celebrate the launch, CSF joined members of the Hawaii Legislative Outdoor Heritage Caucus in Honolulu on December 7th for a kick-off reception that included attendees from across the country. Joining CSF’s Pacific States Manager Keely Hopkins to welcome the new Caucus into the NASC network, NASC Executive Council members Senator David Wilson (Alaska), Representative Bill Rehm (New Mexico) and Representative Kevin Wallace (Oklahoma) were in attendance, along with legislators from state sportsmen’s caucuses in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and more. Organizations from the hunter and angler conservation communities in Hawaii also participated in the reception and look forward to working with the new Caucus to advance wildlife and fisheries management on the islands. Under the leadership of Hawaii Senator Lorraine Inouye and Senator Gil Keith-Agaran, the Caucus has already begun to determine policy priorities for the upcoming 2023 legislative session. |
