September 15, 2022 (Washington, D.C.) – Yesterday, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) hosted its 33rd Annual Banquet & Auction, recognizing the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) and its unparalleled leadership on Capitol Hill. Since 1989, CSF’s Annual Banquet and Auction has brought together industry leaders, mission partners, and conservation advocates to gather with the very lawmakers working to protect and advance hunting, fishing, trapping, and recreational shooting. This year, approximately 60 Members of Congress attended Washington, DC’s preeminent celebration of America’s sporting heritage and rich conservation legacy, including bipartisan CSC leaders Sen. Martin Heinrich (NM), Sen. Joe Manchin (WV), Sen. John Boozman (AR), Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI), Rep. Richard Hudson (NC), Rep. Jimmy Panetta (CA), and Rep. Bruce Westerman (AR). Made up of 230 members of the House and Senate, the CSC is one of the largest and most effective bipartisan caucuses in Congress. Already in 2022, the CSC has been at the forefront of advancing pro sporting-conservation policies, with numerous victories achieved for America’s 55 million sportsmen and women. Most recently, the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA), passed the House of Representatives, marking the first time this landmark conservation legislation has passed the House as a standalone measure, largely thanks to the leadership of CSC members. The CSC has also played an integral role in advancing other outdoor priorities such as the MAPLand Act, the RISEE Act, Chronic Wasting Disease Research and Management Act, and the America’s Outdoor Recreation Act through the legislative process. “During a moment in our country where every issue seems like a wedge, we are grateful for the CSC, which consistently shows that we as Americans accomplish more when we work together,” said CSF President and CEO Jeff Crane. “The CSF Banquet allows us to reflect on the successes and challenges of the last year while strengthening the partnerships needed to continue growing our outdoor heritage. CSF and our legislative partners face conservation issues head on and it is because of this results-driven approach that we have achieved more than 1,000 legislative victories at the state and federal levels in the past five years.” Prior to the evening’s banquet, CSF also hosted a VIP reception where Sen. Heinrich joined U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Martha Williams in addressing the crowd. During the reception, Jeff Crane and CSF Chairman Simon Roosevelt also presented awards to Ecentria, the International Order of T. Roosevelt, SCI, and Vista Outdoor in recognition of their outstanding support for CSF’s mission.
